The lower photo shows the locomotive's cab is still lettered for its previous owner, Sobey Manufacturing Co.   Although much fainter, the upper photo shows the same Sobey lettering many years later in its service life.

West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co. #1 (WVPPC) - s/n 534
Built 1904 - Std. gauge - 40 tons - 2 trucks - Class B 903

In the photograph, the locomotive is at the Southern Iron & Equipment Co. (SIEC) in Atlanta, Georgia.  This company was a dealer in used locomotives and other equipment.   The photo looks to be taken shortly after WVPPC purchased the locomotive from SIEC in April, 1912, but before its transport to WVPPCs  operations near Dobbins Siding, West Virginia.   The metal placard on the ground below the locomotive cab is lettered #807.   This was the unique stock number assigned to the locomotive by SIEC when it acquired the locomotive from a previous owner.

White Top Railway #2 - s/n 353

The locomotive was built for and owned by the Hassinger Lumber Co.   It started its operating life in 36" gauge from the factory at Hassinger's  Lamona, Pennsylvania location.   The photographs at left depict the locomotive later at Hassinger's Konnarock, Virginia location after being regauged to standard.
