The company's base of operations was Harlow, Arkansas.   The locomotive was named "Hope", after the company's owner, George D. Hope of Kansas City.  This locomotive's s/n is unknown and carries the standard "unknown s/n" designation number noted.

The text accompanying the photo on the hosting source (below) notes it was the first Climax to be used in Michigan.  In addition, its shop number (a.k.a. construction number) was #27.  Since current generally accepted Climax owner rosters show the shop number as being "unknown" (as indicated with the "X" before the 20), this might be a new "find" by the GSLW should it be true.

Hillcrest Lumber Company #9 - s/n 1359 @  B.C. Forest Discovery Center, Duncan, BC Canada - operable (special occasions)  - photo taken at California State Railroad Museum during Railfair '91.  Hillcrest donated it to the B.C. Logging Museum in 1969, where it was on static display until 1990 at which time restoration began in preparation for the '91 Railfair.  It was operated by Hillcrest as a spare to their #10 Climax (see photos below) in regular service until 1968.   The last engineer of the engine in regular service was Harry Wright.  The engineer in the photo is Brent Love, employee of the B.C. Logging Museum.

As evidenced by a small portion of the visible face of the rear driver on the left rear locomotive truck (see arrow indicating location in the related photo), the locomotive ran on wooden rail and utilized "corrugated (cleated) wheel tread" on the drivers.   Click the image entitled "Cleated" in the  "Drivers - Tires and Flanges" section of the "Climax Components 1" page on this site.  These special drivers enhanced traction.

It was one of two of the company's Climaxes that carried the #2 road number.  The other was s/n 1349.
The locomotive, owned by the Index-Galena Lumber Co., operated near Index, Washington.

The locomotive, owned by the Index-Galena Lumber Co., operated near Index, Washington.  It was one of two of the company's Climaxes that carried the #2 road number.  The other was s/n 379.
